My work focuses on life in Kerry on all levels. I try to bring the local people and animals into focus by painting them at various times in their life. I also have a strong interest in Celtic mythology and focus some of my work on the legends and folklore pertaining to Kerry in particular. At the moment most of my work features horses, especially the heavy cobs as they are traditionally seen in Killarney and when they are free to roam in the fields. Some of my paintings are simple portraits whilst others feature dramatic scenery and intricate details of a persons lifestyle. Each painting tells a story and is worked in a realistic style that is instantly recognizable and needs no explanation.
