Tralee born visual artist Des Fitzgerald works with a variety of different media ranging from photography and sculpture to filmmaking. Humour plays a big part, in his work. Themes are inspired by everyday life and utilise familiar objects and imagery. His photography often transforms the mundane and can be playful and quirky. Des is a member of Studio8 – Kerry Contemporary, which provides an important platform for his work, whilst also supporting his creativity as a independent artist.
