In art, the quest is for the discovery of images from the unconscious, which have meaning for us and are communicable to others who wish to look with openness. The quest for images is fundamentally the search for meaning, the essence of which is ultimately the act of looking itself. The more intently we look at the known, the more the act of looking takes precedence over the known and leads us to the threshold of the unknown.
