Andrew Duggan presents work in spaces where the location has a social, historical and architectural resonance. Often working with others, Andrew defines a space where an actor or dancer explores a particular script or action. Often presenting work outside the gallery space, he has created installations in handball alleys [court, 2011, future perfect, 2008], video projections in disused creameries [milk+honey, 2002], created video pieces in previously used film locations [iarsma_remnant 2009] or theatrical spaces [act, 2006].

Andrew’s work has featured members of the National Folk Theatre, Cindy Cummings, Paul Galvin, Olwen Foréré and Jazmin Chiodi. He was the first Irish artist to be awarded the Location One Fellowship in New York City. His work was part of Culture Ireland’s Imagine Ireland programme o art in the US and most recently he presented ‘unravel’ in Lyon, France, as part ofEU2013, Ireland’s international cultural programme.
