I am a singer-songwriter with a jazz/folk leaning. I perform regularly and am available for gigs and events in a variety of settings. I am also a facilitator of song and community music and am available to work with a range of groups including; early years (mini music), adult singing groups (Sing Out!), music in healthcare settings (Kerry Musicians for Health) and with people with special needs. I can also give one to one vocal mentoring.

My work falls into two main categories. The first is representational landscapes, in which I try to portray the magic and charm of the Kerry countryside for those who may not have experienced it for themselves and to evoke the warmth of memory for those who, like me, have long been under its’ spell. The second category is entirely imaginative, where I create scenes from other times or other worlds. I enjoy both the discipline of the one and the freedom of the other – my only problem is deciding which I want to do next!

My work is primarily a response to my surroundings, both internal and external. Because I get little time to make work, when I do it is deeply personal.

Living in Kenmare since 1989, a Swiss artist I have been painting landscapes and exhibiting my work since 1999. I find myself drawn to particular elements of my surrounding, be it old buildings, trees, rockpools. The shapes formed by sculpting by wind and water or the unique details of a landscape or a building are what I am communicating in my paintings.

Ãine Moynihan’s first collection of poetry ‘Canals of Memory’ was published by Doghouse Books in 2008. She is also a professional actor and Director of An Lab Theatre in Dingle.
